* A Tapestry of Thought *

 Snowflakes ....
Back to Full Blog

While viewing the  beauty of fresh falling snow

My mind wandered back to words spoken softly to the ear of a child.

" Snowflakes are like newborn souls falling from the clouds to the earth".

Like the snow flake we are all perfect creations.

Each of us uniquely formed.

Many of us are taught religion in a fog of truth during childhood.

We call ourselves Christians, Jews, Moslems, Buddhists, Hindus, Atheists,

Agnostics or Pagans.

None of us speak or relate to God in the same manner.

Eventually, as the snowflakes melt

They return to the water from which they were formed.

Water runs deep and will seek its own level

Until it is found.

Sometimes these waters are the waters of consciousness.

Heat melts the snow.

Like snow we soften with warmth.

Snowflakes fall and melt.

Mountain streams join to make great rivers

That flow to the sea.

The tides churn the oceans.

Similarly, our unique feelings are flowing as they connect

The present with our past experiences.

We each live in a sea of thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

Each of us are individual snowflakes.

When we experience the warmth of love

Each of us connect with one another

In ways that defy our rational understanding of life. At times words cannot express

Our deep thoughts. Its during these times that action

Can speak for all of us.

We Are One!

I wrote this while watching the snow fall and thinking of my sweet Grandmother.

By strange coincidence - a few days ago - the same thing happened here. Huge snowflakes fell softly straight down - beautiful!
Then, with magnifying glass in hand, I went outside to capture and to look more closely at their unique formations.
A few hours later, all that beauty changed to bellowing blizzard!

Curious .. I find it interesting that you went to inveestigate the unique beauty of the snowflakes. At least you enjoyed the beauty before the Blizzard arrived. Are you ready for Spring to arrive?

'...ready for Spring'? - Let' see ???
Yes...since JANUARY!
The good news - it's almost 40 degrees here today - mostly sunny & a great day for a long outdoor walk.
Are you in a more mild climate area?

Good Morning .. I'm in WV and this morning it is 39 degrees and raining. Our winter has been mild compared to yours. Sunday is going to be in the 60's with sunshine. I'm also ready for Spring but dread the hot and humid summer.
